Gianna Simone is an exemplary role model for kids, teenagers, young adults, and young professionals who seek inspiration for how they can positively impact the world’s health and environment issues. At some point or another everyone asks the basic question, “How can I, as one individual, make a real difference?” And, while most people have used that question to rationalize their inaction, Gianna has turned her answer into a rallying cry for change.
She was born into world of loss, pain, and confusion. Gianna grew up going from family to family within the inner-city Foster care system of Boston. She lived on the border of life and death through many years of physical and emotional abuse. Only through her own courage and intelligence was Gianna able to navigate and overcome great obstacles that had sadly killed or incarcerated many before her.
The world of film was Gianna’s main escape and through this portal she came to find a great strength in acting. As she overcame her past, she started paving a new life road in acting roles in some of Hollywood’s biggest successes, such as Star Trek Into Darkness, God’s Not Dead 2, and Gary Marshall’s “Mother’s Day.” She is currently starring in, and co-producing with PureFlix Entertainment, the new sitcom “Hitting The Breaks.”
As her career took her to Hollywood she began to encounter similar stories like her own, even as far away as Rwanda. Gianna made a decision that she would devote her time and energy to ending the pain and suffering of young girls who were never given a voice and who were born into conflict. Gianna began tithing her acting income when she experienced her calling to help others. She directed it into providing scholarships to female survivors of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Understanding that scholarships will provide opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders to create a more sustainable environment and growing economy for Rwanda.
Gianna realized it wasn’t just focusing on education alone; Gianna’s passion for animal rights, and health, through a plant based diet, was attacking multiple areas of the environment simultaneously in order to bring significant change a country. She also serves as a mentor for a level 12 residential facility in the Los Angeles area, called Maryvale.
Her life goal and the mission of The Gianna Simone Foundation is, to provide rescue, as well as support to abused and neglected human beings and animals. To help them feel loved, supported, and safe for the first time in their lives. As a role model and inspiration to these children, her story of success proves that through faith, vision, hard work, persistence, and giving back, there is a bright future.
